Mary Ann was born 1857 and died app. 1890 near Hope, Oklahoma when it was Indian Territory. Can someone find her grave for me?? How would I find the exact date of death? Her husband was Joseph Warren Batts a cowboy. She was his first wife. Their children were: 1. Thomas Warren Batts b. 1879 2. Mary Ellen Batts b. 1881 3. Hettie Ann Batts b. 1882 4. John Earl Batts b. 1886. Joseph married Josephine Blankenship second. They had childen as well.
John Earl is buried at Buffalo Cemetery near Sweetwater.
He died in 1853. Hettie Ann married David Sylvanus McDowell and she died at Canton Oklahoma and is buried there. Thomas is buried in Wise County. Mary Ellen died in 1965 and is buried in Oklahoma. Joesph Warren Batts was 1/4 Choctaw and was listed as that in the 1890 census.
I found it once in Okahoma City in 1954. Could someone get a copy of that Census?? Joseph's aunt Martha married John E Driscall and is buried at Purdy, Oklahoma. His aunt Mary
married a McCoy and had a son named Robert. They settled near Coalgate. Is anyone working on these lines. This is information I got from Hettie in 1953 when I married her grandson Winston Coffey. RBeda Coffey rbeda@sbcglobal.net
