My grandfather was Ernest Liles, son of Josephus C Liles and Sarah Elizabeth Bell. Josephus was the son of Absalom Liles and Cynthia Colinger.
Ernest married Elsie Mae Martin (daughter of Eli Martin). They had six children:
1. Sherman, who died in infancy
2. Herbert Leon b. 10/18/1927--my father
3. Junior Harlan
4. Melvin Timmings
5. Betty Lou
6. Wilma Jean
Herbert Leon married Rebecca Ruth Rhodes (daughter of Ralston Bates Rhodes and Phoebe Ione Terry Rhodes) on Dec. 17, 1948.
They had three children.
1. Michael Stephen b. 10/28/1949, d.12/31/1991
2. Jeanette Elaine b. 4/27/1956, d. 8/11/1987. Jeanette had muscular dystrophy.
3. Linda Carol b. 4/7/1959
They later adopted April Lorraine b. 4/15/1975.
Linda married Darrel Ralph Medeiros on June 17, 1989
They later divorced and Linda took back her maiden name. she also changed her children's names to Liles. Her children are
1. Laura Jeanette Ione Liles b. 9/24/1990
2. Emily Carol Ruth Liles b. 2/3/1993
3. Caleb Stephen Rhodes Liles b. 12/22/1994

Who were Absalom's parents?
