Am seeking information on a John R. Conklin, known to have been in Woodward Co. as of 1921. We have a letter from an attorney seeking money from John's family for his defense. It seems as if John shot a Mr. Powell, probably in the winter or spring of 1921. Anyone in Woodward Co. who could look in the local newspapers? Am willing to pay a search fee. The letter from the attorney, Mr W.H. Springfield, reads in part........ "Answering your of May 24 (1921), in reference to your brother J.R. Conklin.... I am certain from my investigation that your brother was laboring under emotional insanity when he shot Powell." Death certificate search revealed nothing in Woodward Co. on him. Jean
