Hi Carol
A Good Friend of mine, and cousin from Laredo, works at the Spanish Geneological Society of Laredo, call her up, at 956-712-0265, The Society has done a wonderful CD of Father Andres findings of a listing of all the names of baptimals he did as an Oblit priest, they found the records in Alphabatical order, he would write them down on any piece of paper and then go back and record them in card forms, the Society has the CD for sale, it is amazing from A-Z the thousands of names it has, and the Roma Records are there, Rio Grande, and many many more, it is a worth while investments, I found 10 gggrandparents that I had been at a dead end for over 11 years. Tell them Alma Cruz told you about them, they would love to hear from you all, their from the san Agustine Catholic Church and they have done a wonderful job indexing them in a pdf form, I believe everyone should have this information if someone is not aware of it. I have a lot of information, but this is a new one for me, and have enjoyed every minute of it. They have a variety of journals and family books available that I was not aware as of several weeks ago.
as Researchers one must pass it to others so they too can benefit in thier search for their ancestral lines.
Although I have not met them in person I have spoken to Elisa Gutierrez and she is a wonderful person, I met Lupita at a Geneological Convention in McAllen 2 years ago, and sadden me to find out this past week she died of a fall and injured her head and was a great loss to them she was a sweet and loving person, what I gather is that her daughter will be donating her information to Laredo library, as she finishes inventoring the information, Im told she had a room like a Library. this is going to be a great contribution to The Laredo People and many of us.
Alma
