Onions family in Ireland

A long time ago since you posted that message! Would be interested in knowing more. The only information I can add (and it might muddy the waters!) is that a Robert B. Onions inherited land from Alexander Onions in 1904 in County Laoise, Ireland. His (presumably) 'partner' was Kate Bolton East - a widow. However, their address was given as County Clare in the 1890s, and as Kyletaleshia, County Laoise in 1904. They either left the area or died before 1911, because neither is mentioned in the census returns from that date. Now, there were ground rents in Portlaoise that appear to have passed to a Jojn J Onyon is America. These were admisistered, and eventually passed to, my great grandfather, John George Onions - also of Portlaoise Ireland...
I have only recently started looking into this stuff, so there are plenty of gaps, but I have the will and probate from 1904...
