My grandfather was your grandfather's brother. His name was Ulysses Ontiveros Sr.He died around 1944 in his early 20's fighting during WWII in the Phillipines. He is buried at Fort Bliss military cementary in El Paso, TX.My grandfather left behind his widow, Elisa Rodriguez Ontiveros, who still resides in El Paso. She is in her 80's.He also left behind his two sons, Ulysses Ontiveros Jr.(born 1942) and David Ontiveros, who were approx. 2 and 1 yrs of age, respectively at the time of his death.
I personally have met only two of my grandfather's siblings.I met Ralph in 1990.He was living in El Paso I think. He has since passed on.I also met one of his sisters who had married and moved to Kansas.I believe her name was Josefing or Carmen and I think her married name was Sandoval.I met herin Corona, Ca at one of her grandchildren's home. This would have been about eight years ago and I'm not sure if she is still alive because she was already fairly old.All I know about family origins is that my father was probably born in Chihahua, Mx, but I am not sure about the name of the town.My grandmother has mentioned the town of Santa Rosalia, but I am not sure how good or accurate her memory is.
I myself am originally from Rialto, Ca but no longer live there.I am 26 years old and have since moved to the Central Valley(CA).
My father, Ulysses Jr., joined the navy, and was stationed in Southern California just before the beginning of the Vietnam war. After the war he came back to California and decided to stay(no wonder).I remember him mentioning that one of his uncles and his family lived in the L.A. area but that is all I know.My Uncle still lives in El Paso and also has grown children.
