Carrie,

There were many McClure families in Indiana in the 1850 Census in Knox County just before the wagon trail departed for Oregon in 1853. There is a complete and detailed diary about the entire adventure found in:

Haddon, McClure, Curry and Allied Families
Author: Eliza Haddon Brevoort and Doris Bond Wheeler
Call Number: CS71.H122
This book contains a brief history of the Haddon, McClure, and Curry families from England who settled in Cambridge.
Bibliographic Information: Brevoort, Eliza Haddon and Doris Bond Wheeler. Our Haddon McClure, Curry and Allied Families. Burkert-Walton Co. Vincennes, Indiana. 1952.

The entire manuscript is available on Genealogy.com.

Joseph
