Hi Erik, I think the best way to find ancestors after the 1930 Census is to find the obit of a person. The obit generally lists descendants and where they are living. Then I use www.switchboard.com for addresses & phone numbers.

Check out Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness, www.raogk.org, choose Oregon, choose Lane Co. There is a volunteer who will look up obits. If that doesn't work, re-post & I'll provide the pay sites.

A Magdalene E. Rasmussen [Magdalene E. Elgaard] was born 13 Sept. 1903, OR. She died 20 Sept 1986, Fresno Co., CA. Mother's Maiden Name=Nielsen and Father's Surname=Elgaard. Source: CA Death Index, 1940-1997.
I'd check RAOGK first and if not successful, post to California, Fresno Co. & ask how to get a copy of the obit.
A Margaret Elgaard Petersen [Margaret Elgaard Elgaard] was born 21 March 1894, Massachusetts and died 6 Oct 1991 in Fresno Co., CA. Mother's Maiden Name=Nielsen and Father's Surname=Elgaar. Source: CA Death Index 1940-1997.
