Hi Dorothy:

You stated that you do not know where James Pattison is buried. Have you obtained his death certificate? A couple of ways to obtain it...

You can order it directly or ask for information from the State Archives:
Oregon State Archives
800 Summer St. NE
Salem, OR 97310
Phone: 503-373-0701
Fax: 503-373-0953
reference.archives@state.or.us

With the information from the DC you should be able to contact the funeral home and they might have information on his marriages, ie Freda and Annie.

Try emailing the archives first.

You can post on the forums for a lookup...Salem is in Marion Co., and although you looking for a death record in Clatsop Co., someone from Marion Co. may go to the archives for you if you explain your situation.

Were you aware that there is also a coroner's report for his death?
Name Pattison, James W
Date 3/24/1941
Record Type Coroner's Report
County Clatsop
Source County

http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/banners/index/coroner.htm
The records document the results of the examination of a corpse by the county coroner at the request of the county sheriff. They also record the proceedings and results of inquests ordered by the district attorney. Reports include date filed; name, age, sex, race, parentage, and birthplace of deceased; date, place, and time of death; names of undertaker and coroner; testimony; and costs. Early reports were narrative accounts detailing the cause of death. After 1900, a standardized form was used for reporting results. Inquest transcripts include coroner and juror names, signatures, and actions; witness names; testimony; and verdict.

I hope this helps with your search. Good Luck!
Laura
