Death of Mrs Ellen Owens-1843 Wagon Train

My ggg grand mother, Mrs Robert (Ellen) Owens, died giving birth to a child, Catherine Owens, before or during the biginning of the 1843 wagon train. I understand that her death was at or near Missouri. I am looking for information on this subject or where to look for such information.
Robert, Margaret Ellen,(my future gg grandmother), and her sister Catherine Owens came to Oregon on the 1845 wagon train. Robert was killed within a year of arrival, so information is short coming.

Any information would be very grateful. Thanks.
