The marriage record in Clark county, Washington says: SMITH,
Weldon B, age 22, born North Carolina, occupation truck
driver, resides Portland; father W.B. SMITH, born North
Carolina; mother Rosa L. MILLER, born North Carolina; married
10 December 1919 to Winifred A. CAPON, age 17, born Minnesota,
resides Portland; father J.A. CAPON, born Minnesota; mother
Mary M. ZABLE, born Wisconsin; witnesses Mary CAPON and Albert
R. HAVEN.

Weldon Bruner SMITH registered for the WWI draft in Portland,
Oregon. His birth date was 13 Oct 1897.

The California Death Index says: Weldon B. SMITH, born 13 Oct
1897 in North Carolina, died 22 Jan 1965 in Alameda co,
mother's maiden name MILLER.

Weldon's social security number was 553-07-9733. It was
issued in Washington state.

In the 1910 census Weldon is living with his parents in
Yakima, Washington.

In the 1900 census Weldon is living with his parents in Flat
Creek township, Buncombe county, North Carolina. His father
is William B. SMITH, born Apr 1869 in NC. His mother is
Rosalee, born Apr 1872 in NC. His parents were married in
1889 or 1890.

In the 1920 census Weldon's mother Rosa SMITH is living in
Goldendale, Klickitat co, Washington.

On 28 April 1929 Weldon B. SMITH married Lucy IRBY in Yakima,
Washington with a marriage license issued in Benton county,
Washington on 30 Mar 1929. The witnesses were Virgil Leo.
IRBY and N.E. IRBY.

In the 1930 census Weldon SMITH and Lucy are living in Yakima,
Washington.

In the 1920 Portland city directory there are:
Julius A. CAPON and his wife Mary living at 583 Raleigh.
At the same address are Castello N. CAPON and Walter J. CAPON.

In the 1921 Portland city directory Julius and Mary CAPON are
living at 5811 Woodstock. At the same address is Walter J.
CAPON.

(There is no one named CAPON listed in the 1917 or 1918
Portland city directories.)

The Oregon Death Index says:
Julius Ashfield CAPON, died in Portland, 22 July 1925.
Mary M. CAPON, died in Multnomah county, 20 March 1943.
Winifred A. GURR, died in Lincoln county, 17 Apr 1969, born
1902, husband
Ernest.
Ernest Nat. GURR, died in Lane county, 24 Sep 1972, born Jan
1899.

Ernest Nathen GURR registered for the WWI draft in 1918 in
Stevens county, Washington. His birth date was 26 January.

The Social Security Death Index says Ernest GURR, born 26 Jan
1899, died Sep 1972, last residence Springfield, Oregon, SSN
571-28-6902 issued California.
(Winifred not found in SSDI.)

(No one named GURR is found in the Oregon Marriage Index from
1921-1929, nor from 1935-1939.)

Winifred CAPON (age 6, born MN) was living with her parents in the 1910 census in the Columbia precinct, Clark county, Washington. Her father Julius CAPON was age 51, born Minnesota. Her mother Mary age 42, born Wisconsin, 7 living children.

Winifred's parents were living in Wabasha city, Wabasha county, Minnesota in the 1900 census. Father Julius was born in May 1858. Mother Marie M. was born in Oct 1865. They had been married 5 years.
