James H BROWN was b in 1826 and was said to be of Mercer County, KY on his Oregon Donation Land Claim #4797. He died 11 Mar 1898 in Yamhill Co, OR.
Shortly after arriving in Oregon, he married the widow of Elijah JAMES, Nancy READ JAMES who had at least three JAMES children from her first marriage. (JW- a male, David, and MJ- a female).
According to Census info, they lived in Jackson Prct of Polk County, OR in 1860; and in Sheridan Precinct of Yamhill County, OR in 1870 and 1880.
James H BROWN and Nancy had 5 children, Elizabeth (~1853), Emily (~1856), Thomas (~1859), William (~1861), and Hank (9 Mar 1864).
I'm looking for descendents of these children, as well as more info about James H BROWN prior to his arrival in OR around Oct of 1852.
Will exchange info with interested parties.
