Hello all,
I'm trying to find out what happened to the family of Emil Arndt who left IL about 1899 and moved to Oregon. Here's what I know.
Emil Arndt was born 19 Feb 1861 in Kaisersfelde, District Bromberg, Province Posen, Germany. He came to the United States in 1882 and settled in Jackson County, IL near his brother Herman Arndt. In 1887 he married Augusta Rustow in Jackson County, IL. Sometime shortly before the 1900 Census was taken they moved to Polk County, OR and were living in the North Dallas Precinct. By 1910 the family had moved to S. Sheridan Precinct of Yamhill County, OR. Emil died 15 Feb 1925 in Sheridan, Yamhill County, OR. Augusta was still living in Yamhill County, OR in 1930. Their known children were:
1. Louise Arndt (b. 9 Mar 1890) listed as single in the 1930 Census for Yamhill County, OR.
2. Emma or Amelia Arndt (b. Nov 1905)
3. Max W. Arndt (b. Feb or Mar of 1898 or 1899) married Emma M. in 1920, living Yamhill County in 1930. Daughter Maxine (b. 1922).
4. Martha Arndt (b. abt 1903)
5. Catherine Arndt (b. abt 1905)
6. Herman F. Arndt (b. abt 1907) listed as single in 1930 Census for Yamhill County, OR
7. Eleanore C. Arndt (b. abt 1909) listed as single in 1930 Census for Yamhill County, OR
I would appreciate any information on this family. I'm descended from Herman Arndt, brother of Emil, and I'd like to know what happened to Emil's family.
