When you post an inquiry, it's VERY important to provide information on the persons you seek. Identify their date of births, date of deaths, childrens names, etc. That helps a researcher identify one Converse from another. In this case, do you have ANY information on the children? Have you researched in census? Any additional on the family?

I find a John Tyler Converse, died 18 Feb 1920 in Yamhill County.

The 1920 Census for Mcminnville, Yamhill County, OR
John T. Converse, age 70 (Circa 1850), born in Connecticut to both parents born in CT
Ellen, 62, born in Pennsylvania to both parents born in PA
Bessie, age 20, born in Oregon.
--the next family down:
Clarie/Claire Converse, age 35, born in Oregon to father born in Virginia, mother in Oregon, widow
Bernice, daughter, age 12, born in Oregon to father born in Iowa
--The 1910 Census for McMinnville has Claire Converse age 25, married to Earl H. Converse, 24, born in Iowa, to both parents born in the United States. Bernice is 2.

The 1900 Census for McMinnville, Yamhill County, OR
John T, born Oct 1849 in Connecticut
Ellen born May 1857 in Pennsylvania, mother of 9, 9 living
Edward J, born April 1879
Arthur H, Oct 1881
Jesse O, born May 1883
Henry E, May 1895
Bertha M, Sept 1887
Ethel L, August 1890.
Bessie E, May 1899

The Oregon State Archives: http://genealogy.state.or.us/ has Earl H. and Claire V. Russell, marriage on 8/30/1906 in Polk County.
--It has an estate issue for Ellen in 1937
--Estate issue for J.T. in 1920.
Marriages for:
Howard J. Henry and Bertha M. Converse on 8/17/1910 in Yamhill Co.
Fred H. Schenk and Ethel L. Converse on 8/15/1910 in Yamhill Co.

It's late, without further confirmation on what you think above is correct or what additional information you have...
