Thomas Orcutt

Thomas Williams Orcutt, 64, a 33-year-resident of Glen Burnie, died of lung cancer Sept. 1 at the Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum.

Born in Tonawanda, N.Y., Mr. Orcutt graduated from Pine Valley Central School He worked for more than 30 years as an analyst in the Department of Defense.

He had previously served in the Army stationed at Fort Devens in Massachusetts and Okinawa.

His hobby was researching his family genealogy and he developed an Orcutt Family Web site. He also had coached baseball, basketball and soccer for many years with the Greater Glen Burnie Youth League.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Orcutt; two sons, David John Orcutt of Glen Burnie and Scott Thomas Orcutt of Odenton; one sister, Penelope Hill of Sedalia, Mo.; and one grandchild. He was the son of the late Clarence W. and Doris Lacey Orcutt.

A memorial service will be at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.Arrangements are by the Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund for Children, Dana-Faber Cancer Institute, 1 Jimmy Fund Way, Boston, MA 02115 or the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
