The circa 1860s portrait of George Orcutt was taken by B. F. Battels' Gallery of Art, Akron, OH. It is identified on the back of the mount in period handwriting:

The circa 1900 portrait was taken by J. R. Hall's Model Studio, Newton, IA, and is identified on the back of the mount in recent times:
the father of George Henry Orcutt."

I found George Orcutt listed in the 1850 Census data for Copley Township, Summit Co., OH; the 1860 Census data for San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA; the 1870 Census data for Summit Township, Pella Post Office, Marion Co., IA; the 1880 Census data for Summit Township, Marion Co., IA; the 1900 and 1910 Census data for Fairview Township, Monroe town, Jasper Co., IA.
George Orcutt, a speculator/farmer, was born Aug 1829 in OH, the son of a farmer, Chester Orcutt, born 28 Aug 1786 in Egremont, Berkshire Co., MA; and Jerusha (maiden name unknown), born about 1804 in MA. George married Martha Jane More, born 19 Apr 1832 in Medina, OH, died after 1883 in IA. The couple had at least six children--Grace, born about 1863 in CA; May, born about 1865 in IA; Herman L., born Aug 1866 in IA; Chester R., born Dec 1867 in IA; Mary, born Sep 1869; and Georege Henry, born Jun 1871 in IA.
