Accordinbg to one diccionary on genealogy i read, the origins are on CAstille in Spain, but myself and 90% of the oteros i know are from Galicia, it is a very common last name and it is located mostly in Galicia, i've heard of people named otero out of here but it is not that common. It is nice to know there are plenty of Oteros outside Galicia!
