Hello,
I now have accurate information on my Otero roots. I have documents that explain the orgins of my great grandmother and the dates of events. In the Consulado de Espana en Las Islas Filipinas,it said,"that on October 9 of said year 1902, Mr. Jose Luis Otero y Portela, born in Seville on the year 1863, presented the necessary documents to prove his Spanish nationality and was inscribed as Spanish subject together with his wife Mrs. Josefina Otero Gonzalez and their daughter Miss Josefina Otero Gonzalez(my Great Grandmother). It was also stated that Josefina Gonzalez(my Great Granmother's mother) was the daughter of Fernando Gonzalez(he was a colonel in the Spanish army), and she was the niece of Rev Ceferino Gonzalez(he was the Cardinal Archibishop of Seville in the early nineties(1800s) of the last century. It is also, stated that the Otero family was related to Don Joaquin Pacheco who was a General in the Spanish army and Governer of Valencia. Another relative was Don Antonio Pacheco(brother of Joaquin) was also a General in the Spanish army and was retired and with the late Mons. Ceferino Gonzalez, Archbishop of Seville. I have a photograph that was taken in Spain of my Grandmother and her family. On the side of the photo, is says," Medalla De Oro 1888 Barcelona. I believe the photo place or company was called Ant y Emilio F.Lits(not sure about Lits part) Napoleon. My Great Grandmother also, had siblings. I believe she had two sisters and one brother. It is quite possible that one of the sisters moved to England with her husband. If you could give me any information at all possible, I would great appreciate. Thank you. I will be checking the site everyday.
