Daniel Gaby was supposedly born in Berks County, PA. in 1828. I found him in the 1850 census in St. Louis, MO. at age 21, working as a carpenter, which occupation he followed most of his life along with farming and gardening. Daniel married Lucinda McVay Finch, a widow with 3 children in 1853. They traveled with her father's wagon train in 1860 to Oregon. Daniel died in 1903 in Crescent City, California.
