Hi Don:
I am not sure if my research has crossed yours. I have Adam, George, Michael, and Peter Ott in Bavaria in the early 1800's and late 1700's. Their villages were Ruckerdorf and Rothenbach, both near Munich. The main family they were connected with is Willert. This Ott line sent Georg to Denver in the 1880's, and his brother to the Washington D.C. area. Both have many descendants.
Also, I recently read about a von Ott, his wife Barbara, and their artist son who went to war. The son painted a picture of his mother before leaving, and the picture still exists. The dates don't match with the von Ott you mention. I am looking up the reference and will forward it to you, if you are interested.
