Philip Ott also enlisted in the 37th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, B Company on 24 August 1861. This was a 3-year term. He was wounded in July 1864 during the Atlanta Campaign and mustered out in September 1864 because his term expired.

He died on 27 December 1908.
