I have not located parents for Sylvester Ott either. I had some paid researcher tell me that he was the son of Josef Ott b. 13 Mar 1671 Werttemberg, Germany and Barbara Mertz (Maerz) of the same location. I have no proof of that nor did the researcher provide proof.
