Nancy Utt was born c. 1835 possibly in Indiana. She is listed in the 1850 Greene Co, Indiana census, Stafford Township, living with a family whose head appears to be Joseph Dougherty, age 65, born in VA. Other persons in the household are: Amy - age 6, David - age 23, Matilda Keziah - age 25, Henry Dougherty - age 21, Isaac L. - age 19, Manerva - age 16, Melinda Keziah - age 9, Josiah -age 2, and Sarah E - age 1. (Where surnames are not listed, I assume that they are the same as the person listed previous to them??) This is a very strange household!! Can anyone tell me why Nancy Utt (my 2great-grandmother) was living with this family? Does anyone have any information on the ancestors of this Nancy Utt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
