I believe our families may be related. My great, great, great grandfather was William Otts, Sr. who in 1850 was 49 years old according to my records. He lived in Guin, Marion Co. Alabama (which is the county next to Lamar), but was born in North Carolina. His wife's name was Jane Shehorn and was born in South Carolina. I know that off and on, my family lived in Lamar County. Perhaps your great grandmother and my ggg grandfather are related. I am going to Salt Lake City in a few weeks to do more research, perhaps I can find a link there.
