I am researching the origins of Michael Ott as well as his wife and children. I know he
had one son Samuel Ott.
There is a land title in the Bedford PA records. He had a farm in Colerain Township.
The farm was passed down through several generations.
I am trying to establish where Michael came from. Was he born in North America or Europe? My uncle thinks he was born somewhere near Lancaster PA, but I have not found any information.
A woman at the Bedford History Library told me that many people came up from Baltimore and the Hagerstown area to settle.
The census of 1790 shows Michael Ott 45+. This does not exacly match the Birth date I have.
I am currently living in Switzerland and very interested to trace my Family back to Europe.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
