During my fruitless search for my the family of my gfather, William Ott of the Floyd County, Indiana area, I took a wrong turn in the road as a result of some very helpful and well meaning GenForum participants. Because apparently there were two William J. Otts in Floyd County in the late 1800's, my research was focused on Frank Ott Sr. and Frank Ott Jr., who now it seems were the gfather and father of the wrong William J. Ott. I am now focusing on a Ferdinan(d?) Ott who was born in Baden Germany about 1830 and moved to Harrison Co., IN and married Mary Rode there in 1860. His son "Willie" was born in 1874. If the latter is the correct William Ott, he married Susie Hopper in Floyd Co. on 2 June 1901. Does anyone have any information on this branch of the Ott clan or can anyone confirm this William Ott??I
