I believe the ancestor I am searching for, Jacob Ott, may be a brother to your Samuel Ott. Jacob was born in the Hagerstown area on Sept. 12, 1824. One of his sons, Joseph Hillary Ott, married Eva May Walt in Carroll Co. Ohio. They migrated again and raised a family in Jackson Co., Kansas. I am trying to find parents and siblings of Jacob and have a clue as to his parents, but have not yet substantiated it. Have you any more information since you wrote your note on this forum?
