Please do not be fooled by charlatans who make up a fake history of your family surname and a fake coat of arms. While there are probably some lines of the original OTT families that had a coat of arms, they were usually specific to an individual and allowed to be used only during the lifetime of that person. Occasionally they were handed down to the eldest son, but rarely. So there really is no such thing as a FAMILY coat-of-arms, except in reference to a former coat-of-arms once claimed by a long gone descendant.
