Mine were said to be from the Black Forrest area, but no village name was handed down. Family tradition states that the Otts ran a shop and lived upstairs. A robber broke in and the parents were killed. (At least) one of the sons did not like the family/relative he was sent to live with so he stowed away on a ship coming to the USA. For a time he (they) were in OH. There was a family dispute over money/inheritance and some came to Fayette Co, KY and others went elsewhere. This was told to me by my grandmother who was b. 1809 and she was refering to her grandfather or great grandfather. I do not know his given name, but there are lots of Georges, Henrys, Franks and Johns in this family. If you think this might connect to yours, please contact me. Nancy
