I was told by a Richard Ott that it means prosperous. I'm trying to translate the surname Otthoudt. My name is Osterhoudt which means Eastwood. Hout in Dutch means woodland or timberland. The "d" is a stop which in phonetics is the act of stopping all your breath. Otthoudt could mean prosperous in timber or wood. I'm confused at this point.
