I am coming to Adams Co. to do research...need advice

I am planning a trip to Adams Co. to do some research on my family. They seem to have been in Adams Co. for a long period of time...but in the 1700's and the 1800's. One side was Quaker. I am not sure of the others.

Questoins are:
What is available as far as early research?
Are their archives in the area for documents dated in the earlier years?
Are the various places user friendly?
What type of places should I focus on?
Any outstanding resturants to be recommended?
If I come in the fall...a suggested place to stay?
Thanks for any advice I may get on researching in the area.
