Zachariah T. Scott Plumcreek Township Help please

I know that he existed b.1842 PA according to all census records 1860-1900. Died 14 Oct 1900 and buried in Elderton. Can not figure him out prior to 1860 when he appears married to Margaret Olanger in Plumcreek Twsp, Armstrong County. They had three children Daniel George Scott b. 1863, John Pettigrew Scott 1865-1938 (my husbands line), Annie Naomi Scott b 1872. Unless the aliens dropped him off he came from somewhere. He is not the Zachereus Scott line from Elizabeth Twsp, Allegheny Co. Any help is appreciated. My thought is his mother might have been a Pettigrew since he used that name on John, but that's a big guess. Thanks, Sharon
