I am looking for the locations of the following property taken from deeds we received at the courthouse in Kittanning.
3/19/1866 Heirs of Jacob williams (deceased) to JOHN CAMPBELL, heirs of Jacob Williams were Christina Williams, widow, Michael, Jacob & Christina Williams & Evalina & Ellen Anthony. Madison Twp known as Lot #809 of the Holland Land Co, surveyed and returned on warrent # 2864 conveyed by deed dated 3/10/1849 to Jacob Williams.
11/31/1868 Elizabeth (Hench) Campbell & John Campbell Sr. Madison Twp. to John Campbell JR, land bounded by John Rimer ESQ, Jacob Myers & Thomas Truitt.
11/29/1871 Robert & Martha Orr to John Campbell Jr. situated on the edge of public road leading from Mahoning to Greys Eddy. 26 ft. from the AVRR edge of Seriel (either) Arbfiy/Arbsiy Road, the old coal $ ore road. Part of a large tract of 500 acres known as the south of Mahoning tract.
We are looking for the location of any or all of these pieces of land in an effort to find the burial site of John & Elizabeth Hench Campbell, We have gone over the cemetery's 3 times in Kellersburg because our Grandmother said they lived near there, with no luck and feel that there may be other cemetery's near one of these pieces of land. We know that John and Elizabeth were living with John Jr. at the time of their deaths. According to the census records they were in Madison Twp. The names of any churches near these pieces of land would also be a clue.
I have tried the Historical Society in Kitanning as well as the courthouse and the new records storage there and the people there just keep sending me back the info I send to them, very frustrating... so please can someone with a knowledge of the area help ! e mail me directly pegisist@earthlink.net Thank-you much Pegi
