I am having a time getting birth dates and death records for
my Stouffer ancestors and need to find out where great grandfather Samuel Stouffer's father was born. .
I don't even have his name!
Seems everything started with Samuel, but nothing before him
he was born 1826 or 1829
Back in the 1860 through 1880 census records he spells his name STOUFER
his first wife was Sarah ?
his second wife was Catherine
can anyone help me out "again"

As far as I know, [from the older stouffer family who have passed away] they came from somewhere in Germany. But I need to get Samuel's father's family.
there was 2 Samuel Stouf[ff]er's the first born 1826 or 29,
the second was my grandfather born 1864 and died in 1942
the family were never very prominent folks [at least the ones that I have record of], and I know that makes things a bit more difficult to research
