Naturalization rectord of Peter Fink:
PETER FINK. Born in the town of Akerthausen in the Kingdom of Biren in Germany, from whence he migrated in 1834, arriving in Baltimore the same year. Subject of the King of Biren, Germany. Shoemaker. Plans to settle in Somerset County. Filed DI 05 Sep 1837, aged 23 years.

Death notice of Peter Fink

Peter Fink died at his home near Wolfsburg on Saturday. The deceased was born in Germany May 3, 1814. He came to this country when eighteen years old. He located in Somerset county, where for a number of years he made and repaired shoes and acted as toll-gate keeper. Many years ago he removed to this county, and in 1870, purchased the William J. Patterson farm near Wolfsburg, where he resided up to the time of his death.

In 1839 decedent was united in marriage to Miss Margaret McGinnis, of Hagerstown, Md. To this union six children were born, only two of whom are still living, namely, Peter Fink, Jr., a prominent business man of Somerset, and Miss Sarah Fink, at home. Mrs. Fink died in 1878. (In the 1880 census report he is listed as a widow and daughter is living at home with him)

Mr. Fink's remains were interred in the graveyard at the Mount Smith Methodist Episcopal church in Bedford township on Monday. Rev. Francis E. Purcell conducted the services.

In politics, Mr. Fink was a Democrat. He was a thrifty, frugal, and honest citizen whose upright life challenged the admiration of neighbors and friends.

Fink, Peter
The will of Peter Fink, late of Bedford township, has been filed in the register's office. Testator bequeaths to his daughter Sarah the house and lot he recently purchased from Daniel Manges. He authorizes his executors to sell the balance of his real estate. Two hundred dollars are to held in trust for the care of decedent's grave in the Mount Smith cemetery. The remainder of his estate is to be equally divided among his son Peter, his daughter Sarah and the children of his deceased daughter Lizzie. Peter Fink, Jr., and Moses A. Points, Esq., are appointed executors.
