"May" is a surname, that machines do not understand. In this case, it is not a girl's middle name or the month she was born. John Andrew May married Maria Sophine Exline. John May's will is dated April 8, 1826, Bedford County, PA. He bequeaths to sons Leonard and John, parts of the "Plantation" that he owns. "The balance of my property to be sold by my executors and the proceeds to be equally divived among my daughters (no names given.)But on the second page he stipulates that..."paid first to my oldest daughter then next eldest, and so on; my daughter Catharine to have fifty Dollars more than the other girls to be paid out first, money that may come in the Executors hands ..." While I have located some of the other children in this family, I have not found a "Catherine". Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on this subject?
