County

Pennsylvania Counties did not begin recording marriages until 1885.
For before that in the 19th century you need to consult every church record you can find in the area your folks lived in.
Many church records do not survive, or were kept by circuit-riders whose records do not survive. The best-kept and most surviving records were those of the Lutheran and Reformed churches, of which there were many in Chester, Philadelphia and Berks. Some have been transcribed, some have been published, others are available only in Synod archives in Gettysburg and Adamstown.
