Is anyone familiar with Flight Officer Sheldon L. Chambers of Altoona (Blair County), Pennsylvania? Flight Officer Chambers was a World War II MIA who was lost in 1944 on the same Army Air Force aircraft as my uncle, 1st Lt. Irwin G. Zaetz. My information is that Flight Officer Chambers' mother was Mrs. Sara E. Chambers, Rural Delivery One, Box 186, Altoona, Pennsylvania. Within the past year, the wreckage of this aircraft was discovered in a remote part of northeastern India. My family is trying to find relatives of the missing crewmen to persuade the Department of Defense to send a recovery team to the site of the wreckage. Any information on Flight Officer Chambers would be greatly appreciated.
