My sister and I are researching some elusive ancestors who lived for a period of time (1860s to 1900s) in or near Ormenia (Mines) Pa. The family surnames are Caswell or Conroy. Two family members are buried at the Clappertown Lutheran Church cemetery: William Ransom Caswell (b 1829 d August 1891) and his son Edward Caswell (b 1878 d August 1898) I am hoping that someone has access to the records of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Williamsburg, PA and can check whether there are records for this family. William's daughters were Sallie, Julia, Eliza, and Annie Mae. Sallie Caswell (b 1866 d 1927) had a daughter out of wedlock (Edith Gaynelle Caswell b 1897 d 1972); our paternal grandmother) and we are hoping to find a birth record or a baptismal record that names Edith's father. We are also interested in locating marriage documents for 1) Sallie Caswell if she ever married anyone, 2) William Ransom Caswell and his wife Mary Conroy Caswell (b 1835 d 1903) who married sometime after 1864-5 and met while Mary lived in Oreminea, 3) Julia Caswell (b 1871 d ?) who married Frank Corrigan in Mines Pa around 1890-92, and 4) Eliza Caswell (b 1876 d 1962) who married a Walter Abt who lived in Mines/Oreminea. We appreciate any help with these questions. If there is a better place or person to whom we should direct our questions, please let us know. Thanks! Notify Administrator about this message?
