My great-great grandmother died in childbirth on 29 May 1888 in Beaver Meadow, Carbon Co. PA. Her husband was Thomas North, a coal miner, of Beaver Meadow. They had 3 daughters that survived to adulthood (4 children perished.)
I'm just curious what newspapers, libraries, or other resources might have carried an obituary for residents of Beaver Meadow in 1888?
I've also been searching for her husband's date of passing (I know between 1910 and 1920, and he last lived with a daughter in Foster, Luzerne Co., PA.) but I have been unsuccessful in finding his date (and that includes help from the "courthouse gang" group on Yahoo, ancestry's records, and various message boards...) I am trying to avoid the $34 PA vital records search, which has been hit or miss for me....
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
