Grand Army Cemetary is easy to find in the town of Summit Hill Pennsylvania. I believe the street it is on is named White St. but it is very easy to find and a stop at the gas station in town will get you directions or someone at the local Legion Post could also help. The Legion is open every day of the week. There are many church cemetaries in the same area as the GAR. GAR is the second cemetary on the left hand side of the road. To my knowledge there is no information about GAR burials anywhere online but it is an easy cemetary to walk through.I have been trying to get contact information for the cemetary myself with little luck. It is a very old cemetary with not a lot of burials taking place now.
Summit Hill is located in the Panther Valley region of Pa.. It is one of many small towns clustered together. If you are planning on staying in the area the closest motels are in Nesquehoning or Lehighton. Nesquehoning is a small family run motel and Lehighton has 2 chain hotels but I can't remember their names. Jim Thorpe also has a remodeled inn on the main street that is quite nice. I hope this helps you. Email if you have other questions.
