If you come up from Allentown be prepared for Summit Hill to be a little colder than Allentown for the day. It is always a little colder than the other towns probably because of its location. I'm bad with directions but if you come up the turnpike after you get off you will eventually cross a bridge and can either go straight or turn right getting to Summit Hill either way. If you come through Lansford and up the hill into SH the Legion Post will be the first thing you will see at the top of the hill. If you come up through the Mahoning Valley you will enter town and see a gas station on either side of the road that should find you someone to steer you in the right direction. I hope my memory of streets is correct and White is the name of the street. I'm much better taking someone there than verbalizing but it is should be easy to find someone to give you directions. Eating places are not abundant in town. Millers is a restaurant that opens for meals late Saturday afternoon and earlier Sundays and there is a sandwich shop but that is about it. Lansford has a few more places to eat but not many. Good luck with your search. It has been a long time since i roamed in the GAR. There may not be markings for the infant burials. I know I have an uncle who died as an infant in 1911 and is buried with grandparents with no marking. What are your Lansford rleatives names? I grew up there and lived there til 1987. Hope you have a good trip. Notify Administrator about this message?
