Sure, I'm happy to share what I know. The O'Connors are from Dublin, per notes written by my great-grandfather's sister. My father said that his grandfather (my great-grandfather) referred to Letterkenny and County Cork, but since my great-grandfather's mother was born in Ireland, that may have been why he spoke of Letterkenny and Cork. I have found no independent verification regarding Dublin, but someone who has done a lot of research on Irish genealogy thought that the fact that my great-grandfather made shoes meant it was likely he came from Dublin? His city of birth is not listed on his naturalization. I know the family came over in 1847 as I found them listed on a ship's manifest June 18 of that year. Interestingly, on the 1870 census in Linn County, there is a Mary O'Connor and son, Michael (born 1855 in NY) listed in the household with my great-great grandfather, Mathew. I don't know how they are connected to the family. Let me know if more information would be helpful to you. Shannon
