Thank you Shannon. My reasoning is that Mauch Chunk is relatively a very small town and to have two Connor/O'Connors go there at the same time makes me feel there is a connection. (Though I know that was also the time to immigrate and PA was flooded with new people.) Another website showed that the people in Mauch Chunk were mostly from Donegal. Glenties, Dungloe, etc. My Michael O'Connor married a girl who was definitely from Donegal, and lived two houses away in Mauch Chunk. Letterkenny is in Donegal. And my O'Connors could have come from Letterkenny. Perhaps yours did too - before they went to Dublin. There is an interesting message on the O'Connor board (#2769) about O'Connors in that area. How sad that we can't know for sure.
