I found this Hickman Family that is the most possible "fit"

William Hickman Born: abt: 1744, Died: 1880 Kennett, Chester Cty, PA
Married: 1774 To:
Hannah Chamberlin Born abt: 1755, Chester Cty, PA., Died: 20 Nov 1824
Chester Cty, PA

They had the following children:
1. William Hickman... Born- ?, "WHO MIGHT BE YOUR WILLIAM"
2. John Paynter Hickman: Born abt. 1789
3. Elizabeth: Born- abt 1790
4. Ann: Born- ?
5. Hannah: Born-?
6. Lydia: Born- ?
7. Mary: Born- ?

I also found on Ancestry.com the following:
Possible parents of Lydia Mercer:
David Mercer: Born 23 Aug 1742-East Marlboro Twp., Chester Cty, PA
Died: 10 Oct 1832- Columbiana, OH
