THE HISTORY OF CHESTER COUNTY, by Futhey and Cope, says that John lived in Birmingham in 1715, and was a carpenter, by trade. He is believed to have been the father of James, but includes no documentation for this...thus the word 'believed'. John didn't leave a will, so it's impossible to use this method to determine his children. There were other House males around in the right time frame to have been the parent of James. As a matter of fact there was a James who appears in early court records....1708; Thomas House purchased 245 acres in Notthingham, dated March, 1705. There are no entries for John, 1710 or earlier, in the court records. I'm including James' will, in case you don't have it. Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1834 HOUSE, JAMES. Kennett.February 18, 1756.
