Sandra: Just wrote an answer and it flew off into never-never land. Again: David joined the Revolutionary army in 1783 for 3 years. Said he was 18 years old and born in PA. His name was spelled "Efaugh". His pay slips spelled "Efaw or possibly Efau". In 1787 I found him in the Hardy County Census (Tax List) as Easau. For several years after that every year the spelling was differnt. There are several Efaw"s in early (1700's) tithables for Loudoun County, VA. Also in the 1790 census for Maryland there is a Pritchard Efaw and a Negro Efaw. I have the family pretty well connected from 1783 to the present. But have not been able to go back anyfurther. Even hired several Gen. researhers with nothing new. I am 81 years old and for over 30 years I had hoped to solve the Efaw riddle but guess it will be up to someone else. Thank you so much for your efforts. I have given up several times. Then someone would contact me wanting to know if we where related etc. And what kind of a name "Efaw" was. And I would get back to looking again. What I can say is that every Efaw that I have any info on at all We Are All Connected to David and Catherine Efaw who ever they are. Again thanks bob efaw Notify Administrator about this message?
