OBITUARIES FROM CLARION NEWSPAPERS 1895-1900 COMPILED BY SALLY JORDAN REED PUBLISHED BY MECHLING BOOKBINDERY BUTLER,PA. PAGES 38 11/19/1895-Charles Sipler,father of Prothonotary Sipler of this place,died Sunday last at his residence in St.Petersburg.Mr.Sipler was a well known and esteemed citizen and had served in the army several years during the late war. PAGE 39 11/21/1895-At 2:45 on Sunday morning,after a lingering sickness from lung trouble,Mr.Charles Sipler departed this life,aged 75 years,9 months and 21 days.The funeral was held at 10 o'clock,Tuesday forenoon,services being held in the Reformed church,conducted by Revs.Darbaker,and the remains were buried by the soldiers with military rites.Mr.Sipler was a consistent member of the Reformed church for a number of years and was faithful and obedient to the Master until he was called unto his long,long home.He passed away in the hope of the faithful and fell asleep in the hope of a glorious resurrection of the just.He died as he lived,and leaves a blessed memory which will influence the heart and mind of his friends as they rest by the pathway of life.He leaves a wife,four children and many friends to mourn his departure.
