Hi Elaine,
I'd love some help. I am looking for Fredericks and Millers - impossible names to research!
My great-great grandparents were: Christian Friedrich / Christopher Frederick, b. 08 Aug 1825 in Germany, married Elizabeth Mueller / Miller in Harrisburg on 15 Jul 1855. Elizabeth was born 02 Mar 1832 in Germany.
They had several children, only one of whom lived to adulthood: Kate Jennie / aka Catherine Jeannette and other variations. She was born 22 May 1859 in Harrisburg.
Harrisburg Cemetery has listings for unnamed children of Christian Frederick: November 24, 1862 July 29 1864 (stillborn) May 18, 1857.
Elizabeth died 10 Mar 1865 in Harrisburg. Christopher remarried and moved to Erie. (Not sure which came first - the move or the marriage.)
Elizabeth immigrated as a child, with parents and siblings. I believe she had a sister named Jeannette (Johanette), a brother John Conrad, and possibly a sister Christine. Her mother died on the ship. I have no names for parents or siblings, although I have made some guesses.
If any of your books have any info about anyone who might be connected to this family, I would greatly appreciate it. I think the German Lutheran church would be most likely.
I live in GA, but will be passing through Harrisburg next Sunday, and hope to wander the cemetery a bit.
