I am looking for John Reed born abt. 1800 in Pennsylvania. I know this is a common name for that time and place.
His son, Edward E. Reed was my great great Grandfather, a Blacksmith by trade ,born 1834 in Dauphin Co.Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg--died 1904 in Indiana--married to Susan Shirk.
The only info I have on the the parents and siblings of Edward Reed were provided on his death certificate and obituary.Edward's Father was listed as John Reed, born in Pennsylvania, no Mother listed. Obituary in 1904 claims Edward left 3 brothers and 2 sisters still living in Pennsylvania, their names are unknown.
Hopefully there are descendants of Edward's siblings who might read this and contact me, and help me fill in the blanks in early Pennsylvania.
There is a good chance John Reed is from the Dauphin County area also.
